Job title: Applications Engineer
Based: Sittingbourne, Kent
Reports to: Applications & Innovations Manager

Job Purpose:
Mechanical biased role for a technically minded individual to support innovative road safety product development and maintenance, for major projects with customers and partners. The successful candidate will be working closely with the wider applications team to provide customer-focused technical solutions and product support, as well as, promoting the company, to increase sales and profitability. The role includes opportunities to travel internationally. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Attend and coordinate field trials/installations for new and existing products
-
Create product training packages for distributors and key clients
-
Conduct product/technical presentations to customers, design consultants, and colleagues and at industry seminars

Provide technical support to customers, distributors, governing bodies and colleagues
-
Liaise with engineering & applications departments on feedback with ideas to enhance product performance & new product ideas

Interpret and occasionally edit CAD/Solidworks product drawings
-
Coordinating with key material suppliers to manage delivery schedules for key projects and ensuring delivery of products/components to meet deadlines for preparation of client training or project start date

Liaise with the engineering department to provide clients with site-specific layout and installation drawings

Continuously drive improvements and lean initiatives

Prepare product technical submissions

Review & update existing technical documentation (such as drawings & manuals)

Essential Skills, Competencies, Qualifications and Behaviours Necessary to Perform this Role:
-
Qualified to minimum HNC/D
-
Capability to write technical responses, documentation and manuals
-
Willingness & flexibility to travel worldwide, sometimes at short notice
-
Confident and highly motivated customer facing engineer with a strong attention to detail
-
Key focus on providing exceptional customer service
-
Excellent communicator
-
Proficiency with everyday productivity software such as Outlook and the Microsoft Office suite

Instructor & assessor qualifications/experience advantageous
