Employee Interview - Lantra Training Success

After 18 months of studying, practicals and assessments Alex Marsh, Field Applications Engineer had confirmation he reached his next milestone and was accepted as a LANTRA Instructor!

In celebration of this, we wanted to learn more on what this journey meant for Alex and what the future holds now he is a certified instructor.

Q: What did the training involve?

A: The training involved delivering a PowerPoint presentation and engaging with learners to help them gain a good understanding of industry requirements and the Tertu product range.

After running through the installation manuals, we then went out into the training area and got the learners to identify the different systems and do some hands on assembly work.

This was finished off with a test, which everybody passed!

Q: What did you enjoy the most in the training?

A: When I can see that the learners share the same enthusiasm I do about getting to know the product, and take a genuine interest in the training.

Q: What challenges did you face?

A: As this was the first time I had delivered a LANTRA course I was being assessed by an external verifier. I was trying to remember all the other things around the training such as facilities and paperwork etc. to make sure I hadn’t missed anything!

Q: How did you overcome them?

A: Luckily I had a good group of learners and the external verifier was really helpful, he put me at ease from the start.

Q: What would you say is your biggest reward from going through this training?

A: Proving that I am up to the standard of delivering LANTRA courses and seeing happy learners when they pass!

Q: What are your goals going forward with LANTRA training?

A: To gain accreditation to deliver all LANTRA courses for Highway Care products and to ensure that training is enjoyable and interesting for all learners.

Q: How did Highway Care support you through the process?

A: Highway Care funded the multiple qualifications required, and allowed me to attend courses, assess individuals and complete my training/coursework within working hours for the last 18 months. This took a lot of the stress out of the experience, and ultimately ensured that I succeeded.

Q: Any further comments?

A: My manager, Ollie Pulling has been a LANTRA instructor for a number of years and has good experience/knowledge. He always shared this with me and made time when I had questions which was a huge help. Thanks!

We'd like to take this time to further congratulate and thank Alex for allowing us gain a better insight to his LANTRA journey.

We wish you all the success going forward.

Please offer your congratulations to Alex on his success.
