Getting to Know Jake Savage, Operations Supervisor

This interview was taken by Jake Savage, Operations Supervisor at our Grantham base.
Q: How would you describe your job in a nutshell? A: “I don’t know really, as each and everyday is completely different from the one before. The challenges just keep coming.”
Q: How long have you been at HC?
A: “Just over 2 years now.” Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: “Firstly I’d say the travel, because this job takes you all across the country and sometimes Europe and secondly, the progression that Highway Care offers because I started as an Operative and now I’ve progressed to becoming a supervisor within 2 years!” Q: What’s your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
A: “I’d say getting to my job level and also, Kev and I doing up Grantham from just an empty space to a fully operational yard!”
Q: What do you put off the most when doing your job?
A: "Creating job packs..." Q: What are you most likely to say at work/at home?
A: “I’m knackered!!”
Q: What are you least likely to say at work/at home? A: “That I can’t do something, I’ll always find a way!” Q: Jake, if you had to describe your job in 3 words, what would they be?
A: "No glass ceilings." Q: If you could switch roles with someone at HC for a day, who would it be?
A: “I’d love to have a go at Andy Mac’s role”
Q: What are your biggest professional challenges?
