Highway Care take mental health illness in the work place very seriously. These days, we are all much more aware of ours and others’ mental health. Perceptions are changing and we now have to be mindful of our colleagues and employee’s mental health struggles
With the thriving at work mental health survey results being released, it is great timing for us to announce that Antony Butcher, our Managing Director and Ben Duncker, our Sales Director have just completed their MHFA two day course and are now qualified Mental Health First Aiders.
This brings our total amount of Mental Health First Aiders to nine and also includes:

The St John ambulance MHFA course teaches in-depth skills for providing first aid to people who may be experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and psychosis. The aim is to provide a comfortable working environment where we can help lift the stigma of mental health issues and take better care of our employees.
The course also empowers those who take part to support their own mental health and wellbeing, as well as those they connect with, both in their work life and personal life.
We will be continuing to train our growing team in MHFA so watch this space on more staff being added to the list.
