The UK's First Development of Welsh Dual Language Prism Sign for Red ‘X’
Highway Care are always at the forefront of delivering innovative traffic management solutions.
Project Breakdown
In February 2019 we were delighted to announce the launch of our latest generation of Vertical Light Arrows with an innovative twist.
The Red X light arrow, already the first of its kind, was modified and was the first Welsh and English dual language prism sign to be used in the UK.
Produced direct from our manufacturing facility in Callow Hill, Ledbury, the first of the Red X dual language Prism Signs were deployed to a project in Conwy.

These systems are the first dual language prism signs to work with our fully TOPAS approved Red X systems and the first ever to hit the network for deployment in Wales.
Outcome
These bespoke IPV’s are out on the road, built to an exacting client specification, with thanks to Roy Shelton at Bevan Group Aftercare Response and Paul Kelly at Dhollandia for their assistance and development on this exciting project.
Phil Jeeves, Commercial Manager of Highway Care’s Mobile Traffic division said:
‘It’s an honour to be part of the team that has developed such a simple, yet ground-breaking product. Innovation is the key to everything we do here at Highway Care and to be able to put into production a prism sign that can be read in two languages is just that.'
