HSEQ - Operations Team Coordinator:

Highway Care have an exciting opportunity within our HSEQ team for an Operations Team Coordinator, based near Maidstone, Kent.


This role covers several disciplines within the business and requires the successful candidate to have a well-rounded understanding and approach to business systems administration, with an emphasis on good organisation of safety, health, environment and quality records.


The main functions of the role are:

  • To administrate the Business Management Systems (BMS) on SharePoint and to issue communication about new areas of and changes to the system.

  • To work with the HSEQ Manager to continually develop and improve the BMS system and fully embed the system and any changes within all areas of the organisation.

  • Assisting process owners with writing up procedures/process mapping and managing a master register of documents.

  • To create and/or facilitate and manage document creation and revision in line with document control procedures.

  • To set up and maintain company standard templates for policies, procedures, letterheads, etc. in conjunction with Marketing function.

  • To raise and record incidents, near misses, improvement opportunities, non-conformity and other HSEQ compliance requirements (e.g. toolbox talks and inspections) and report upon status monthly.

  • To liaise with relevant process owners to ensure the above items are followed up / compliance obligations recorded.

  • To support HSEQ internal audit and inspection activities.

  • To administer and support, as required, other business systems (including customer compliance/training portals).

  • To provide administrative support for our Lantra Training Centre; booking training, receipt and issuance of certificates to customers and managing / reporting on training status.

  • To provide support to Transport Manager for booking fleet vehicle servicing/repairs and collating/processing documentation arising from driver activity, defect reports and any communication from DVSA.

The ideal person will:

  • Be proficient in M/S office packages including SharePoint, Excel and Word

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work on their own initiative

  • Have a good understanding of business management systems, document control and good H&S Practice

  • Have a full UK driving licence and own transport (due to location)

There will be a requirement to travel to other depots from time to time so a flexible will be key.

Formal training will be available upon completion of a successful probationary period providing a fantastic opportunity to any career driven candidates.


Customer Service Advisor:

Highway Care are currently seeking a new Customer Service Advisor to join the busy team at the Head Office in Sittingbourne, Kent.


The customer service team are responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all external customers as part of the wider commercial department, ensuring that all sales and technical inquiries are handled consistently in line with our core values.


The Customer Service team are the ‘voice of the customer’, ensuring that all of their requests are met through working closely with various internal departments. The team work hand-in-hand with Customer Sales and Customer Support to manage customers out to final supply and ensure all technical inquiries or complaints are handled through to satisfactory closure.


To be considered for the role you must:

  • Have previous experience working within a team (customer service or administration)

  • Excellent knowledge of M/S office package

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Be accurate and tenacious

  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn

  • Have the ability to demonstrate a high level of organisation skills

  • 5 GCSE's at Grade 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent

  • Full UK driving licence and own transportation (due to location)

It would be an advantage if you:

  • Have a working knowledge of Sage 200

  • Knowledge of CRM systems

  • An understanding of order processing

  • A-Level in Maths, English or business studies (or equivalent)


HGV Class 1 Driver - Operational Delivery Services:


Highway Care is seeking a number of HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Operational Delivery Service team (ODS) for more than just a driving job. You will be part of our ODS team who are responsible for installing specialist Highway safety products to the highest possible standards. (Full training provided)


The right candidate must be flexible, enthusiastic and at all times uphold the company's values to ensure that all works are carried out correctly, safely and in accordance with clients’ requirements.


Shift patterns includes days, nights, and some weekends, with highway works mostly at night. Overnights stays are limited with hotel accommodation provided where they are required. Night works include loading trailers with lorry-loaders, driving to site, install or removal of highway safety products and then returning to base.


Day works include yard works, loading/unloading trailers, shunting, and inspection, disassembly and assembly of highway safety products.


The company will provide ongoing training and progression opportunities for those who wish to advance their career. These include construction/highway and lifting qualifications such as Highway NVQ’s, ALLMI slinger/signaller, ALLMI Crane operative etc.


To be considered you must:

  • Be a team player

  • Hold a full UK Licence class 1 licence

  • Be prepared to work long and unsociable hours

  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn

  • Be good at reversing

CSCS card and previous on-site experience would be ideal but not essential.


Salary: Basic starting £33,800.00 per year (£13.68ph and overtime rate of £20.52ph)


In addition, Highway Care are temporarily offering a Skills Shortage and Retention payment of £400 per month (which increases basic to £38,600)


Basic salary advertised is based on annualised hours - averaged at 47.5hrs per week.
